How to Tie a Palomar Knot |
Our lures work best when tied directly to the
line. We do not recommend the use of snap swivels. There are some lures out
there, such as certain spoons, which may require a snap swivel, but lets face
it-most people use these because they want to be able to change lures quickly.
We look at it like this - if you don't have enough confidence in a lure to tie
it on, then don't use it! Especially when there is a knot like the Palomar,
which once you learn to tie it, you can tie in probably 15-20 seconds, and it
provides right at 100% knot strength. With the Fish-N-Spin™,
you can get some big fish on, including bass,
walleye, even catfish, so you need a good knot. Here's how to tie
it:

The Palomar
Knot is easy to tie correctly, and consistently the strongest knot known
to hold terminal tackle.
1. Double about 4" of line and pass the loop through the eye of
fishing hook (on the Fish-N-Spin, it goes thru the center ring of the lure
assembly). |
2. Let the
fishing hook (lure)hang loose, and tie an overhand knot in the doubled
line.
Avoid twisting the lines and do NOT tighten the knot. |

3. Pull the
loop end of the line far enough to pass it over the hook, swivel or lure.
Make sure the loop passes completely over the attachment. |

4. Pull
both the tag end and the standing line until the knot is tightened. Clip
off the tag end of the fishing line. |
